JAKE ATTEWELL & BERTIE SAMSON
ABOUT JAKE ATTEWELL :
Balance of colorful organic arrangements combined with cyber-realistic geometric work and broken perspective, Itaewon envelops his audience in his imaginary compositions. His clear-cut illustrative background is evident atop his more recently refined expressive forms, including three-dimensional qualities in his work that evoke urban architecture, particularly of Seoul, South Korea where he grew up.
Exposure to an unfamiliar and foreign environment caused rapid development of a delightfully complex, abstract, and energetic style that highlights sound, light, movement, and power. A fascination with the macro and delicate structures of nature has led him to explore the beauty of natural intelligence and the complexities surrounding it.
In his paintings, he touches a range of themes including Sci-Fi, otherworldly landscapes, micro-cosmic structures, energetic overflowing biological forms, space and deep space.
